These iPhones use the same 1320 × 2868 size, so the same wallpaper fits: iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro Max.
On iOS 27 the standard Lock Screen clock ends about 652 px from the top, roughly 23% of the screen. Keep faces and the main subject below that line, or switch to the compact or tall clock in the preview to see how they change things.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max wallpaper size is 1320 × 2868 pixels, which matches its 460 ppi screen exactly.
iOS zooms photos that are not 1320 × 2868 or that have Perspective Zoom turned on. Save the wallpaper at the exact size and turn off Perspective Zoom when you set it.
On iOS 27 the clock ends about 652 pixels from the top. Anything above that line can be covered by the date and time.
